There is nothing ordinary about my journey to become a photographer. I spent my life living around the world: from Canada to Hawaii by way of Belgium, I have been on the go my whole life. During my career as an American Red Cross Coordinator for the U.S. Army I realized I had a passion for serving people in need – whether that was a simple ear to listen or help someone fly home for the passing away of a loved on- I wanted to help people. I like making a difference in someone’s life, even if just for a moment. I have spent the last 12 years of my life as a military wife, mom to a teenager, and a Department of Defense employee, all while living in the four corners of the earth. I love these parts of my life but it was really my job at the Red Cross that showed me my path in this world.

At the end of 2013, my husband left the military and we relocated to beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina. I fell in love with this town years ago, the first time my husband brought me here to visit his family. The marshland, the stunning sunsets, and the amazing historical district make it the perfect backdrop for my photography.Even though you may not know it yet, everyone has a need for photography in some way, shape or form. Capturing the important parts of your life is vital: babies grow into teenagers, families move far away from each other, loved ones eventually leave us. Time needs to be frozen while it still can.

This is why I have decided to meld my two passions in life - photography and helping people - and live through them to create not just a better life for my own family, but our entire community as well. I donate my time to organizations such as The Gold Hope Project to capture loving images of children who suffer from cancer. I work with military families to immortalize the heartbreak and joy of deployment and homecoming. Life is full of milestones and specific reasons to have portraits made.

But you don’t need to wait. Time marches on. Babies grow. Grandparents pass. When you realize it is time, it may be too late. My service to you is to make sure you leave your session with beautiful images to hang on your walls or put in a book and most importantly, to treasure for the years to come!
