Denim & Daughters: A Mother’s Day Tradition with Mariah, Morgan & Mia

Some sessions just feel like home—and that’s exactly what it’s like every time I have Mariah and her girls in front of my camera.

Mariah is one of my long-time clients, and over the years she’s created a sweet little tradition for her Mommy & Me sessions: denim. Every Mother’s Day, she shows up with coordinating jean looks – classic, playful, and totally timeless. This year’s session didn’t disappoint, with both Morgan and baby Mia rocking their little jean dresses while Mariah kept it simple and elegant in a white dress. The result? Pure joy in every single frame.

What made this session extra special was watching big sister Morgan shine in her role. With a new baby in the family, it can be easy for older siblings to feel like they’ve taken a backseat – but not here. We made sure Morgan had her moment in the spotlight, whether she was snuggling baby Mia, giving big grins, or lying back on the fluff rug like a total pro.

It’s so important during family sessions to carve out space for the “big kids.” They’ve got so much love to give and so much personality to show, especially when they’re adjusting to life as a big sibling. Giving Morgan that attention during the shoot helped her feel included, valued, and confident – and it shows in every photo.

Baby Mia was as chill as can be, flashing gummy smiles and being the absolute perfect sidekick for this sibling duo. Watching them interact and grow together is such a privilege, and it’s exactly why these sessions matter so much.
