When the Black Family came all the way from Kansas for their yearly vacation, they decided to hire me for a family session on the beaches of South Carolina. What they didn’t count on was the weather!
Mom, Stesha, decided that even with the possibility of a storm, we would hit the beach at Hilton Head Island and give their family session a try. At first the weather was just a bit gloomy, but then the storm started rolling in nearby, and we were actually really glad it did!
At first the dark gray sky was just really cool looking, and made for an amazing backdrop to the photos of Mom and Dad, and their adorable kids. But then, something even cooler happened!
We watched the lightning hit a few miles away from the beach, and were able to get some awesome shots. Because the storm was far enough away, we were in no danger, and the kids were excited to hear the thunder rolling and the lightning cracking.
And the best part is that now the Black Family has super cool photos of that time they played on a beach in a storm, during their vacation to South Carolina. Getting to make memories during a family shoot makes the experience that much better!
